Far from the chaos of urban life and with the enchanting Rani Hills bordering the eastern side of the school, the general ambiance of Saraswati Shiksha Niketan is soothing, calm and serene; ideal for any educational institution. Spread over more than 2 bighas of land the school is spacious enough for the regular hustle bustle of its 900 students.
The school has 25 well equipped classrooms. The Preprimary and lower primary classrooms are well decorated to suit the interest of the young learners. At the same time the entire area is well guarded to ensure safety of the tiny tots.
The Computer lab is well equipped with sufficient number of computers and there is a full time lab assistant to conduct the practical classes. At SSN computer is a mandatory subject for classes I to VIII and optional for classes IX to X.
Yoga is mandatory for classes I to VIII. Tabla and Dance are mandatory for classes II to VIII. Separate classrooms are there for practice of Tabla and Dance while construction of a separate Yoga hall is planned.
The school library has a good collection of books of all genres which is runed by a full time librarian. There are also ample reference books for all subjects.
The academic activities are carried out in a planned manner. There are four Academic co-coordinators for :
1) Pre-Primary segment
2) Classes I to IV segment
3) Classes V to VII
4) Classes VIII to X segment
The Academic co-coordinators under the guidance of the Principal carry out the educational planning well in advance and supervise the effective execution of the same.
Every one has inner talents. So, to find individual talents of the students the students are divided into four houses headed by student leaders and guided by Teachers In-charge. The non-Academic co-coordinator with the help of Neutral teachers carry out different types of sports, cultural, literary, creative activities throughout the session to identify and hone the different talents of the students.
The students of the school counts from different areas ranging 10 to 15 kilometers from school. Therefore the school has six school buses for transporting students from far off places.
Saraswati Nivas(Boys) and Saraswati Nivas(Girls) have the capacity to house 100 students each. At present there are approximately 80 boys and girls staying in these two hostels. Manned by experienced and caring staff the hostels are perfect home away from home for the inmates. Clean and safe lodging, quality food, running water, power back up, medical care, laundry, private tuition (as and when needed) are the facilities available in both the hostels.
Conscious and continuous efforts are being made to upgrade the school in all spheres. Since 2012 with the help of an NGO the school is operating internet based digital classes for classes VI and VII on Science and Math. The school is planning to introduce similar facility for rest of the classes to enhance learning.
